Transform Relationship Trauma

Trauma Resiliency Life Coaching with Animal Assisted Healing

Cynthia N. Forehand

TRLC, CCTS, NLP

Navigating complex relational trauma has been a challenging journey for me, but I have been refined by the fire. I have chosen to learn and grow from my experience, and I want to help you do the same. I have armored myself with tools and knowledge I can share with you and guide you in relationship trauma recovery. Let me help you turn your pain into your power.

I am a certified Trauma Resiliency Life Coach (TRLC) and Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist (CCTS). I am trained in Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) and explore other modalities as needed. I have learned to HEAL through Human Equine Alliance for Learning and through Poly Vagal Equine Institute or PVEI. I have experienced Animal Assisted Healing (AAH) which was the inspiration for AAH Heal Trauma. And now I am available to guide you in your relationship trauma recovery when you are ready.

Drawing on extensive research and personal insight, I have created several experiential personal development programs. These courses are available through an accessible monthly membership, and I am also available for scheduled personalized sessions.

Animal Assisted Healing

This is Teddy. He taught me to love again.

My heart went numb after 3 years of institutional betrayal and chronic emotional abuse. I didn't realize I had gone numb until the feelings started coming back and I didn't realize I had experienced relational trauma until years later. Loss of self-awareness after relationship trauma is common.

When your history has taught you that humans can't be trusted, and you don't have the energy left for any more human drama, an intentional nurturing relationship with a special animal can bridge the gap to open your heart for emotional abuse recovery.

Oxytocin is the love hormone and interaction with a beloved animal can result in an increase in this necessary hormone decreasing the stress hormone cortisol in humans.

Some other benefits of relationships with animals include co- regulation, companionship, motivation, exercise, recreation, and even blood pressure maintenance.

Animals can help ground us by reminding us to live, love, and laugh in the moment modeling true mindfulness.

Our emotional state influences our thoughts, feelings, and capacity to love. As beings with electromagnetic energy, we all possess an aura that reflects our internal state. Emotions are literally energy in motion.

The heart's signals shape our emotional experiences, and understanding this connection can illuminate the pathways to relational trauma recovery. Horses, with their sensitive nature, become remarkable partners in this journey, responding to our energy and emotions, providing real-time feedback for relationship trauma healing.

When we experience relational trauma, our nervous system can become unbalanced, affecting our entire being. Horses can sense this imbalance and help us navigate back to coherence, where relational trauma healing can occur.

Positive emotions trigger physical and mental benefits, enabling us to think clearly and feel empowered. In the presence of a horse, we can cultivate a space of safety and healing that encourages authentic connection and personal growth.

By participating in an AAH Heal Trauma "Dances With Horses" retreat, you will learn how to harness this energy, building self-awareness, setting healthy boundaries, and fostering authentic communication—key elements in rebuilding your life after relationship trauma.
